Sustainable fishing is the cornerstone of our operation. We fish without endangering fish stocks, and never fish in polluted waters. We believe the fish we catch is given, not taken.

Our products only contain all necessary elements for creating the delightful flavour; no additives or preservatives included. For the smoking process, we use genuine alder smoke with the smooth aroma from a real alder billet. Our customers deserve only the finest quality, straight from the clean northern wilderness.

Our products have been granted the Hyvää Suomesta label to designate a high quantity of domestic ingredients.

Lake fish, the sensible option

According to research, most Finns would like to eat more fish, if there just were more time and quality fish on offer. On average, we consume 13 kilograms of fish each year, and only a fifth of this amount is domestic natural fish. As such, our natural fish species are underfished.

Finnish wild fish species such as the bream, the roach and other cyprinids, the perch, and the vendace are perfect for eating, and all of us should have the opportunity to enjoy more of them.

Diverse use of natural fish for food is good for the environment, one’s health, and even the local economy. Purchasing or catching natural fish from Finland is an excellent, easy way to do your part for the environment, because fishing balances the fish stocks in our lakes. Eating natural fish is a sensible choice!

Most of our products contain bones. The bones soften during the autoclave (pressure cooker) treatment, so you won’t notice them while eating. In addition, fish bones are an excellent source of various minerals. For example, they contain calcium and phosphorus, along with collagen.

Yes, it is. According to a recent study, most domestic natural fish contain very small amounts of environmental toxins. These fish include e.g. the European whitefish, the vendace and the roach, along with the perch, the zander and the burbot in coastal regions.

Our fish mostly come from inland waters. We do our own fishing with our equipment in Lake Pielinen. We’ve also had to buy certain types of fish, mostly perch and roach, from fyke net and trap fishers on the coast.

The secret behind the flavour of our unique smoked fish is our self-designed smoking oven which works using genuine alder smoke. Our expert workers and freshly cleaned fish along with our ultra-efficient production line are the definite foundation of our production.

When opened, our products keep for a few days at refrigerator temperatures.
